Nice story Red! I started with CB packetradio in a very similar way
somewhere in the early 90s. And also owned such a Vector 4000 antenna. In
Dutch well known as a 'patatzak antenne met slagroomklopper' back then. ;)
Many great memories made discovering computers and electronics with friends.
That (great!) time, just a bit before the internet became a common thing in
households, formed me completely to what I'm doing for a living and hobby
interests today.
