Chuck,
Non-delivery notifications are sent just before the housekeeping process
kills a message. So the time before sending is controlled by the Lifetimes
settings in the Housekeeping config.
For T messages notifications are sent if the message is not in state D or F
when it is killed.
For P messages, if it is in state N or H
Non-delivery notifications are not sent for B messages,
If you are seeing notifications which don't conform to the above send me the
details and I'll see if I can find what is going wrong.

1st of all I did search on Non-delivery notifications and saw some comments
back in 2011 but this popped up it's ugly head again so I asking for some
input
with a few questions.
As while back I sent a number of Non-delivery notifications to another
HUB/MBO,
even thought the messages had been forwarded on to another HUB/MBO, in this
case the messages had not sat on my system over a few hours in some case's
minutes.....
a. So this happened again with another station back East just starting to
run
BPQ32, so I have to ask am I missing something, what do I do tell this
fellow,
shut of the setting because it isn't working..(already done such for now)
OR
b. Is the Non-delivery notifications set back thought system because the
end receiving station has not picked up the message destine for that
section or station.
OR
c. Is the Non-delivery notifications set back thought system if each station
hold a message over a period of time
d. How long will a message set before a Non-Delivery
notification is sent back to the sending station, 24 or 48 hours...
e. Is there a way to set this option longer, not that I want any message to
set for 24 hours haven forbid or for that matter 48 Ugh...
After the above happened I uncheck the Non-delivery notifications but I
think
it is a very useful tool, but if I am sending out such messages when
messages
have been already forwarded then I think there is a problem which I do not
want to deal with.....
