Hi Paula,
If I had to guess, I would say that when you connect to BPQ, if you don't
send any other packet, then BPQ does not know whether you are trying to
establish a Netrom link connection or an AX25 L2 connection, and so it
sits there and waits. Once it receives a packet from you, it then knows
what type of connection it is and can respond appropriately. I guess the delay
you observe could be some timeout after which BPQ decides that it should be
an AX25 L2 connect rather than a NET/ROM link.
Perhaps someone familiar with the BPQ code can comment on this behaviour.
